Flower Market

October 28th, 2010

Imagine a land filled with flowers-real ones, silk ones, tulips, roses, carnations, vases, buds, and everything in between!  I tagged along with my friend Jen and her two adorable kiddies.

Check this out!  This just the silk flowers and this was just one vendor's area.
Can you say flower explosion?

My lil buddy doing one finger touching on the flowers.

This is where the real flowers are!  The smell as a-mazing!

Some of the beauties we picked up.

I bought two glass vases and bought Gerber Daisies and Yellow rosese for two of my friends.  How much did each of little flower arrangements cost me?....about $8 a piece.
It's probably a really good thing that I lived FAR, FAR, FAR away from this market or else I may have been poor but my apartment would have been filled with flowers ALL the time!

Doubler

So....I am stateside.

This does not mean I am going to stop posting things about Korea though.
I have alot of adventures that I have not posted yet, that NEED, thats right need to be told.
Plus, I know I am going to have some EPIC adventures in Nebraska!

So no worries you lucky 8, there is more in store for you!

Yeeeeeeeehaw!!

I Am BACK. . .in the midwest. (for now)
(and for everyone that knows me and my time in Korea...you know how I appreciate the military. The End.)

I left Seoul, Korea at 11am on November 1st and arrived in Omaha, Nebraska at 5:15pm on November 1st.  Cool, right?

The parental units and I decided that I seriously needed some steak. Yum!  So we headed downtown to the Texas RoadHouse.
(Mmmm...Amurican!!..yeah wikipedia that!)

The epic moment of the evening?  The waitress coming over and announcing to the restaurant, "Amber here is celebrating her birthday!!!! YAY!  Amber come climb on the saddle here and grab your napkin.  Now whip that napkin up above your head like a lasso....go ahead whip it around above your head!"

Let's take into consideration the state of my condition. . .I've been flying for about 15 hours and this does not include the layovers. I'm jetlagged.  And I just finished a HUGE steak.  I was exhausted, but I played along because really, I felt that it was better to embarrass myself instead of the waitress.
I was puzzling over why she thought we were celebrating my birthday. All I could come up with in my jet lagged haze was that she had overhead my dad say, "Order whatever you want, it's your special day....back in America!"
(See...super excited about it)

So the day after Texas Roadhouse night I am telling a friend about it over the phone, retelling the riding of the saddle story.  My dad happens to pass me in the hallway, "Oh, your mother told them it was your birthday."    . . .oh right . . .it would make sense that the waitress would think it was my birthday if someone told her that.

P.S. I love my mom
