Birthday Pumpkin

My quarter century birthday (the big 2-5) was on October 13th.  The birthday posts are going to have to be installments since it carried over several days...that's right, birthdayS. 

On the 12th, my coworkers took me out to dinner to a place that serves this:

Sorry my 8 followers.  I have been so BUSY with everything in the past week and it shows no sign of slowing before I go stateside again.  I am also more than slightly down about leaving Korea.  

I keep looking around whenever I am out here and thinking, "What are you going to do in Nebraska?...." 

Yes, I know I don't have to stay in the great state of Nebraska, but I am still not in a good mood about my move.

Cake

This morning I had to make a cake purchase.  I am throwing my own birthday party in my afterschool English class and really would an American birthday be complete without a cake?  I think not.  I ran to Tous Les Jours today, a little french bakery.  As I went to pay, the man explained to me that their credit card machine was not up and running yet.
PANIC!  A birthday party without a cake?!

Luckily, I have been to this bakery ALOT in the past two years that I have lived in Songuri.  He explained that I could just come back later today and pay him.  How nice is that?  I don't think I could even do that in Nebraska where I live. 

Today is going to be a good, good day!

Mask Festival

This past Saturday, October 3, 2010 a group of my girlfriends and I decided to travel to Andong.  Andong is about a 3 hour bus ride from Seoul. Yes I did sleep the entire time to and from on the bus.

I decided I needed to paint a fan.  It was me and about 5 kids that were probably 8 and under. I felt pretty cool.  The girl sitting next to me would not have anything to do with me...I kept trying anyways!

Our yummy lunch!  It's called, Ddalk Jjim. Anyways it's clear noodles, potatoes, chicken, veggies and tons of sauce. Yum!

Snakes! on a plane

My school finally made me do it...I had to buy a ticket home last week.  I literally perused http://www.kayak.com/ for about 10 minutes and 5 minutes later I had my ticket home.  I cried the entire time during this process.

(I'm really hoping that this doesn't happen...)

My flight leaves November 1st  Seoul-Portland-Salt Lake City-Omaha.   It's going to be a loooooooooooooooooooooooong day!

The best part I leave November 1st at 11AM and arrive in the cornfields at 5:30PM on November 1st!  Pretty cool or at least I think so...but I'm a nerd like that.

So pretty much I'll be going back to....

My KPOP Dream. . .

TAEYANG: The Concert

Yes, it has happened.  I can finally leave Korea a very happy woman.  I went to a Kpop concert.  A member of the group BigBang that has turned solo, gave an amazing concert, his name is TaeYang. 

 As we were walking up to the concert, we spotted our first poster.  Yes, that man is gorgeous!

TaeYang maybe shorter than me, that's okay our love can endure. . .

So not only did we get to go the concert. . .but also we saw some other famous celebs.  IU performed with TaeYang, she then sang an ballad in English.  IU is the girl that sang Marshmallow.

Our seats we were on the 2nd tier which was not so bad.  I could admire TaeYang from afar.  BUT!  G-Dragon was in the audience and walked by our seats about 6 different times!  I FREAKED OUT!   I was only 3 feet away from this man!   

Also a group of 4 girls with hoodies and security guards walked by our seats. I'm pretty sure they were 2NE1. . .which I LOVE.

Best moments of the show?

*TaeYang dropped down in a white ball that was opened up at the front. . .big pimpin.

*For his song, I Need A Girl, he went throughout the main floor among the fans and pulled a girl up on stage with him.  My friend Corinna and I were going REALLY crazy as our other friend Jessica sat transfixed.  TaeYang proceeded to sit this girl on a plush purple couch, sing to her, give her a gift and had her opened it, it was hot pink underwear and he laid his head in her lap.  The real kicker, he brushed the girl's hair from her face then kissed her cheek.  I almost died!  The girl had her hand over her mouth the entire time and then got to walk down and off the stage in back with Taeyang.  It was awesome!

*Another great performance was Break It Down.  Let me tell you, TaeYang makes a band uniform look good.

*And finally TaeYang was talking the fans at the end of the show and our translator, Jessica was attempting to tell Corinna and I what this beautiful man was saying.  Basically he said it would be awhile before he was going to come out with another CD or have another concert. . .he started crying.  It was SO cute. 

We love you TaeYang!

We also were on of the awesome fans that waited till TaeYang's van left. The security guys were really nice in telling us to back the heck up but when the van drove through everyone went crazy.  This is the best pic of the van that I got. . . since I was being shoved and pushed by screaming Korean girls.

The TaeYang Concert was money well spent and well I would definately do it over again. 

It was EPIC!
